The International Ski Federation (FIS) announced Sunday that Norway would be penalized after a person from the Norwegian support apparatus entered the stadium after the track had been closed. The Norwegian team apologized for the error, and as a result, Norway will have one fewer track vest available until after the team sprint on Wednesday.
Finnish skier Iivo Niskanen had earlier reacted to the incident, stating that Norway was allegedly in a restricted area and conducting ski testing. The FIS confirmed they had met with Norwegian representatives to discuss the matter before implementing the penalty.
