Two of women's MMA's most iconic pioneers, Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano, will end their combined 25-year retirement hiatus to face each other in a historic superfight. The 39-year-old Rousey and 43-year-old Carano, who last competed in 2016 and 2009 respectively, will battle in a featherweight (145 pounds) bout at Los Angeles' Intuit Dome.
The May 16 showdown, promoted by Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions, marks the first MMA card to air live on Netflix. Rousey called it 'the biggest superfight in women's combat sport history,' while Carano revealed Rousey approached her specifically to make this dream fight happen after years of speculation about a potential matchup between the two legends.
