Akhtar Backtracks on Naqvi Criticism

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar attempted to walk back his scathing remarks about PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, calling him 'incompetent and illiterate' just 24 hours earlier.

On ARY News, Akhtar insisted his harsh words were meant for broader cricket administration, not Naqvi personally. 'The words 'incompetent and jaahil (illiterate)' that I used were not meant for Mohsin Naqvi bhai,' he explained while fumbling through his retraction.

The former pacer also expressed frustration with Naqvi's sudden U-turn on the boycott stance against India in the T20 World Cup. 'I am angry with him as he took a stand but did not stick with it,' Akhtar stated. His initial criticism had come on ABP News where he questioned Naqvi's suitability for the PCB chairman role.
