Inter Milan Vs Bodo/Glimt – Italy Veteran Maintains He Still Has “Enthusiasm & Adrenaline”

Inter Milan veteran Matteo Darmian could start in tonight’s must-win Champions League clash against Bodo/Glimt.

During today’s Matchday Programme, Darmian confirmed that he still feels the same enthusiasm as he did at the start of his career, as reported by FCInterNews.

Cristian Chivu might be on the verge of leading Inter to their 21st Serie A title, but the Nerazzurri’s European season is in jeopardy.

Indeed, they’re leading the way in the league, boasting a substantial ten-point lead over second-placed AC Milan.

However, they suffered a heartbreaking 3-1 defeat in the first leg of their knockout playoff tie against Bodo/Glimt.

Therefore, Inter must overturn a two-goal deficit to secure a place in the Round of 16 for the fifth year on the trot.

Meanwhile, Matteo Darmian, who started in Bodo last week, could dislodge Luis Henrique again this evening.

Darmian fared well at the Aspmyra Stadion, even coming agonizingly close to scoring in the first half.

“What do I love most about football? It’s the ability to help the team in any way at any moment, whether with a goal or a save,” Darmian confirmed. “For me, that is the most rewarding thing.

“Despite my experience, I approach this profession with immense enthusiasm and adrenaline; I always have a huge desire to get on the pitch and to win. Since I was a child, I have always been very competitive.”

Then, he named the three qualities in teammates that he admires.

“I could name many, from Bastoni’s vision of the game, to Acerbi’s perseverance, or Lautaro’s grit and ruthlessness in front of goal. What has football taught me? To be part of a group and to respect the rules.

“Likewise, it has made me understand how essential it is to also respect teammates and everyone who works within the club. For me, these are things of immense value.”

Finally, Darmian opened up on his strengths and weaknesses.

“My strength could be my altruism; I consider myself a sincere person who thinks a lot about others. My weakness is that I can be a bit touchy.”
