Thibaut Courtois becomes minority shareholder in French club

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has acquired a minority stake in Ligue 2 club FC Le Mans through his company NXTPLAY.

The investment was finalized through NXTPLAY, with Brazilian fund Outfield retaining majority ownership. Courtois joins an exclusive roster of co-owners that includes Novak Djokovic, Felipe Massa, and Formula 1 driver Kevin Magnussen.

Currently sitting fifth in Ligue 2, FC Le Mans is focused on securing promotion to the top flight. The club aims for automatic qualification by finishing in the top two spots.
