Scott McLaughlin Claims Pole Position for IndyCar St. Petersburg Opener

Team Penske's Scott McLaughlin secured the pole position for the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, marking a strong start to the NTT IndyCar Series season opener.

McLaughlin clocked a best lap of 1:00.5426 (107.032 mph) in his No. 3 DEX Chevrolet to take the top spot. He described the run as 'bloody good' and credited his new engineer, Raul Prados, for the car's performance.

Marcus Ericsson will start alongside McLaughlin on the front row. Rookie Dennis Hauger qualified third, while defending champion Alex Palou starts fourth.
