Kadri's Two Goals Lead Flames Past Sharks

Nazem Kadri scored two goals to lead the Calgary Flames to a 4-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks in their first game back from the Olympic break.

Connor Zary broke a tie early in the third period with a goal from the slot, and Kadri added insurance after a defensive-zone turnover. Mikael Backlund sealed the win with an empty-net goal. Dustin Wolf made 34 saves to improve to 10-2 against San Jose.

The Sharks, who began the night five points out of a playoff spot, lost the opener of a crucial six-game homestand. Tyler Toffoli scored San Jose's lone goal, while the team honored their four Olympians, including Macklin Celebrini, who received a loud ovation.
