Cincinnati Sues QB Sorsby Over NIL Buyout

Cincinnati Athletics is suing former Bearcat quarterback Brendan Sorsby for $1 million, alleging he violated his NIL revenue-sharing agreement by transferring to Texas Tech before his contract expired.

Cincinnati Athletics filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court seeking Sorsby's $1 million buyout. The university stated Sorsby committed to a two-year stay but left after the 2025 season.

Sorsby's representatives argue the university's pursuit of funds is misguided, noting they paid him $875,800 for a completed season. The lawsuit was filed Wednesday following his Jan. 4 transfer to the Red Raiders.
