Colts Grant Trade Permission for Richardson

The Indianapolis Colts have granted Anthony Richardson permission to seek a trade following his loss of the quarterback competition to Daniel Jones.

The No. 4 pick from the 2023 draft, Richardson lost the QB battle for the 2025 season and will serve as backup. The Colts intend to keep Jones as their starter for 2026 and beyond.

Richardson, 23, has struggled with injuries during his career, including an orbital fracture and shoulder surgery. In 17 games with 15 starts, he has a 50.6% completion rate with 8 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
