Report – Inter Milan Plan To Intensify Talks With Tottenham Hotspur Goalkepeer In Coming Weeks
Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly looking to intensify talks with Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario in the coming weeks.
According to FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri are keen to sign the 29-year-old as a long-term replacement for Yann Sommer.
Furthermore, Inter had hoped to land the former Empoli shot-stopper in 2023, only for Spurs to swoop in and steal him away.

Vicario has reportedly grown frustrated with Tottenham’s disastrous results in the Premier League.
Indeed, Igor Tudor’s men are languishing in the division’s lower reaches, sitting just a point clear of 18th-placed West Ham United.
Therefore, the Italian goalkeeper could fancy a return to Serie A in the summer, with Inter eager to lure him to Milan.
Paul Scholes aims sarcastic dig at “special” Michael Carrick after loss to Newcastle
Paul Scholes appeared to mock his former teammate Michael Carrick, just minutes after he was handed his first defeat as Manchester United caretaker boss by Newcastle.
Unbeaten streak ends
United suffered a 2-1 loss to Newcastle at St James’ Park on Wednesday evening, ending Carrick’s eight-game unbeaten run since he was named Ruben Amorim’s temporary replacement in December last year.
The Red Devils headed into the meeting with confidence, but they were rocked in first-half stoppage time when the hosts were awarded a penalty after Bruno Fernandes was judged to have fouled Anthony Gordon inside the danger area.
Gordon stepped up to take the spot kick and made no mistake despite Senne Lammens diving the right way.
But United didn’t trail for too long. Fernandes made amends, supplying the assist for Casemiro, moments before the two teams went down the tunnel for half-time.
Jacob Ramsey’s second booking handed United a golden opportunity on a plate, but Carrick’s men inexplicably failed to take it. What followed was a tepid display, completely devoid of the pace and intensity required to break down the opposition.
United were made to pay when William Osula scored a 90th-minute winner to secure the three points for the Magpies. United remain in third place in the table, but they certainly missed a chance to put some distance between them and their top-four rivals.
Scholes’ jab
Almost immediately after the final whistle, Scholes made it very clear how he felt about the loss in Tyneside.
He took to Instagram story and wrote, “Michael has definitely got something special about him… Cos Utd have been CRAP last 4 games… Night! Tonali (with a heart emoji).”
His Tonali reference goes back to when Scholes claimed that the Italian is a much better midfielder than Arsenal’s Declan Rice.
Given Scholes’s long-held and vocal stance that Carrick should not be appointed as United’s permanent manager, it was perhaps predictable that he seemed to take some satisfaction in witnessing his first defeat. The pair played 160 games together for United between 2006 and 2013.
Scholes and Carrick won eight major trophies together including five Premier League titles and one Champions League title.

Slot on Wirtz's fitness, conceding late goals & facing Wolves again
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has been speaking to the media before Friday's FA Cup fifth round game against Wolves at Molineux (20:00 GMT).
Here are the key lines from his news conference:
- Floran Wirtz trained yesterday so has made the "next step in his rehab" and could be available "for a few minutes in the best scenario" on Friday. Slot added he has no other fresh injury concerns after Tuesday's league defeat at Molineux.
- On potential rotation he said: "We have a few [options for changes] but we don't have 11. I always have options to bring in and players we can bring in and let them start. Not for the first time this season, three days after a game where we have dropped points. I've seen us do quite a lot this season, we have to be better than we were last time."
- More on Tuesday's defeat: "A game which was not so difficult to analyse. A lot of ball possession without being able to create many chances, not for the first time this season. Enough chances to win the game but we didn't convert it into goals. The first attack they had led to a goal. It was hard to take but we're one day away from another really important game for us. We know we have to be better tomorrow."
- Slot was asked about the Reds' record of conceding late goals this season, including on Tuesday: "It's a real concern if you lose and if you lose many times in the same manner it's even more a concern. The way we concede goals in the last minute is not always similar. Some of these goals are not from big chances. You always try to prevent the other team getting big chances."
- On the importance of the FA Cup: "We always find every trophy we can win very important. Champions League qualification is massive as we all know but tomorrow the FA Cup is on the line and that is a massive game for us."
- Where has he seen progression in recent weeks?: "You see individual players getting better and better but progress has had setbacks because of injuries. We had to adjust to the Florian Wirtz injury, that has happened to us a lot this season. At times this season we conceded a lot of goals and counter-attacks but I see improvement there. Bringing from all the ball possession into chances we have seen some improvement."
- On Cody Gakpo, whose only goal in his last nine came in last weekend's win over West Ham: "We are not in terms of chance creation last in the league. We're not doing that bad. We're also the team with most ball possession so you'd expect us to create more. Cody and Mo [Salah] we expect and they expect from themselves to score more. But attacking isn't just down to Cody and Mo in the same way defending isn't just down to Virgil and Ibou. Let's create even more and the goals will come."

Arsenal told how much their free transfer target wants
Leon Goretzka has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in Europe, and Arsenal are reportedly keen to secure his signature. The Gunners view him as an experienced figure capable of strengthening both their squad and dressing room dynamics.
A serial winner with Bayern Munich, Goretzka has continued to feature regularly under Vincent Kompany despite the knowledge that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season. His desire to join a team with strong prospects in European competition makes Arsenal a potentially appealing destination as he looks to continue his career at the highest level.
Arsenal Lead Interest
The Gunners are not alone in pursuing Goretzka. Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus and Tottenham have also expressed interest in signing the midfielder, making the race for his services highly competitive. Nevertheless, Arsenal appear well placed to add him to their squad, with reports suggesting that he is seeking a three-year contract worth approximately £100,000 a week.
While that figure is modest compared to some of the top earners at Arsenal, it makes the deal feasible for the club and increases the likelihood of a successful transfer in the summer. His experience, winning mentality and versatility in midfield are qualities that could have an immediate impact on Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Future Prospects
According to Tuttosport, Goretzka’s proposed terms indicate a clear interest in joining Arsenal, but he is expected to consider proposals from other clubs once his current contract concludes. The summer window will therefore be crucial, as Arsenal look to secure a high-calibre free agent who can contribute both on and off the pitch.
If successful, the move would not only bolster their midfield options but also provide the squad with a proven winner capable of influencing key moments in domestic and European competitions. Goretzka’s arrival could signal Arsenal’s intent to strengthen their ambitions at the top level.
