Sydney Rugby Development Faces Protest Blockade

Residents are opposing the conversion of a local reserve into rugby fields for an elite club, with organizers stating they will physically prevent council work from proceeding.

The contentious development faces a legal challenge in court, which is scheduled to be heard soon as tensions mount between the council and community groups over the use of public sporting facilities.

Premier League of Darts heads to Glasgow this week, with Night 3 taking place on Thursday.

Unfortunately, the Scottish fans won't see a hometown player this year, as Gary Anderson didn't make the 2026 PL lineup, but there are still seven exciting matches to be played.

Night 3 match predictions

Here are my predictions for a stacked slate on Night 3.

*Semifinals and final listed below are my predictions based on the quarterfinals

Quarterfinal 1: Stephen Bunting vs. Gian van Veen

Winner: Gian van Veen, 6-3

Van Veen's debut season has gone well so far.

Although he lost last week, it was a tight contest he almost won, and the strong battles he has in the first two nights will give him the confidence he needs to get past a manageable opponent in the quarterfinals of Night 3.

Bunting has managed games poorly in the PL, but still shows on the Pro Tour that a small hurdle is between him and wins in the PL.

Quarterfinal 2: Luke Humphries vs. Josh Rock

Winner: Luke Humphries, 6-4

Rock has one of the worst averages on Night 2 that we've seen in PL history.

It was an abnormal performance for one of the PDC's most explosive scorers, so it's safe to say he's likely to trend back to normal this week.

Unfortunately, he plays Humphries in the first round, who has been on a tear in the last month and a half, so it will be tough for Rock overcome the world number 2.

Quarterfinal 3: Michael van Gerwen vs. Luke Littler

Winner: Luke Littler, 6-3

Littler has had far from an ideal start to the PL this year.

He still has plenty of time to figure it out, but he'll have to deal with MVG first, who is arguably in the best form we've seen from him in months.

It's tough envisioning seeing 'The Nuke' struggling again this week, so I believe he'll take on the task of playing an in-form MVG.

Quarterfinal 4: Jonny Clayton vs. Gerwyn Price

Winner: Gerwyn Price, 6-5

Price and Clayton will face off for a second straight week, after playing in the semifinal on Night 2.

Price got the best of Clayton in a match that went to a last-leg decider, and I think that result will be duplicated on Thursday, as Price is playing like a top-4 player in the PDC right now.

Semifinal 1: Gian van Veen vs. Luke Humphries

Winner: Gian van Veen, 6-4

Van Veen has gotten the best of Humphries on most occasions recently, and even though Humphries whitewashed van Veen in the semifinals of the World Masters, I have confidence in van Veen's chances in this short-format contest.

Semifinal 2: Luke Littler vs. Gerwyn Price

Winner: Luke Littler, 6-3

The hardest game of the day will likely be the quarterfinal game for Littler, and I think it will only get easier for him after that if he can guarantee himself points with an early win.

Final: Gian van Veen vs. Luke Littler

Winner: Luke Littler, 6-4

Littler/van Veen is a rivalry that we expect to see develop in the coming years.

Littler got the best of van Veen in the recent WC final, but both players have split the matches they've played since, with both matches also being the best-of-11 format.

Expect a close and explosive game if this is the final, but I like Littler's odds this week of going all the way

Three storylines to watch during Night 3

Here are the main storylines to look out for on Night 3.

Will Luke Littler find a rhythm?

The former PL winner and runner-up only has two points through two nights and will look to get back on track against MVG this week.

Stephen Bunting having deja vu?

Bunting will start to think about last year's poor PL campaign if he loses a third straight match and has a tough clash with van Veen.

Can Josh Rock bounce back after a rocky start?

Rock and Bunting are in similar positions, playing vital games against tough opponents as they enter this week with zero points in the 2026 PL.
