Good morning.

Shawn McFarland offers a few observations from Texas Rangers camp yesterday, including some players beginning to filter out for the World Baseball Classic.

Jeff Wilson writes that it was a busy day yesterday with Nathan Eovaldi getting in some work in on the back fields.

Tim Cowlishaw got the DMN to pay for a little vacation in Arizona where he wrote about how Wyatt Langford needs to step up his game.

Zach Crizer writes about the things that actually matter for the Rangers this month as they try to make their time in Surprise a success.

McFarland notes that Brandon Nimmo and Jacob deGrom are expected to make their spring debuts against WBC Team Brazil on Wednesday.

Kennedi Landry writes about how prospect Wilson Santos made a good impression on Skip Schumaker without even getting into a Cactus League game.

McFarland writes utility player Tyler Wade staying in the mix for a roster spot this spring with Schumaker in his corner.

Per MLB dot com’s David Adler, Cameron Cauley is one of the early spring Statcast standouts with over a dozen hard-hit balls.

McFarland lists former 11th-round pitcher Dalton Pence as the 22nd best Rangers prospect on the DMN’s top 30 list.

And, yeah, Ray Davis and the Rangers signaled their values by resurrecting a racist statue that was removed from Love Field and that no one asked to be returned to prop up at the door as a greeter at his drab stadium.

If you even plan to attend games — which I don’t know why you would after Davis apparently spent more of his offseason recruiting monuments to the dubious past of the team’s namesake than trying to make the club a winner while slashing payroll — more often than what you will see when you pass the gates will be the view as you walk around the concourse. From there, you will see the statue in all the embarrassing reverence it deserves:

Dicks out for Ray, and have a nice day!
