Auburn baseball stormed back to claim the series over Nebraska with another impressive, wide-margin win.
Nebraska pitching walked 12 Auburn batters and allowed two four-run innings in Sunday's finale, which led Auburn to a 12-3 win over the Cornhuskers on Sunday at Plainsman Park in Auburn, Alabama.
The No. 7 Auburn Tigers (9-2) set the tone of the game early on an RBI single from Eric Guevara to take a 1-0 lead to the end of the 1st inning, and grabbed firm control of the game by scoring four runs in the 2nd inning, with the headlining blow coming off the bat of Chase Fralick, who smashed a three-run home run to right field to push Auburn ahead, 4-0. A trio of bases-loaded walks and a pair of knocks from Logan Gregorio over the 7th and 8th innings nailed down the win for the Tigers.
Auburn logged seven hits in the game, with no batter recording more than one. Chase Fralick was the team's leading batter with three RBI, with Eric Guevara and Logan Gregorio following suit with two RBI. Alex Petrovic earned the win on the mound for the Tigers by striking out seven batters and allowing two runs on four hits over five innings.
Auburn's nine-game homestand continues Tuesday when the Tigers host Samford in its midweek game. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT at Plainsman Park in Auburn.
