If you ever wondered what 24 straight missed shots – Kevin Keatts, you can sit this one out – here’s your answer.

St. John’s did this Wednesday night against UConn and while much of it was UConn’s defense, especially inside, a lot of it was just, for whatever reason, a bad shooting night by the Johnnies.

Actually, it was an epically bad night – if we understand correctly, St. John’s shot 7.1% in the second half. You might top that in a preschool game.

The thing is, St. John’s is not a dreadful offensive team. They’re not great, but they’re not awful. They hit around 45% of their shots overall and 33.8 from the bonusphere.

But as you watch this video (which is begging for some funny music), you can see the psychology developing. At first it’s just missed shots. Then, panic starts to set in: nothing is going? Seriously? Well, how about this? An airball? Damn! Okay, shoot it a little harder – too hard. Take it to the hole – no, they won’t let us do that. Got it – another three!

Another airball.

You can just imagine Rick Pitino losing his mind over it all. It’s astonishing when you see all these dreadful shots, one after another. A few looked like they might have gone, but didn’t…and then it just snowballed.

What a bizarre night.
