Recap
1st Inning
A two out walk continued Jazzy Francik’s first inning, before a wild pitch moved the runner and a single plated the run. Francik had one more hit before she got the fly out to limit the damage.
Julia Bacoulis was the starter for FGCU, and she gave up back to back walks. After an out, FSU had runners in scoring position, and a sacrifice fly from Anna Hinde tied the game. After the equalizer, Kennedy Harp homered, bringing in two more runs.
3rd Inning
Francik got through the next two innings unscathed, and Harp began the home half of the third with a walk, followed by a single from Makenna Sturgis. Both Bella Ruggiero and Hayley Griggs came up with no out RBI’s, making it 5-1.
The inning continued after a walk, and FGCU went to the bullpen for Victoria Ash. Ash soon had runners in scoring position, and Jaysoni Beachum reached on a fielder’s choice, bringing in a run at the same time.
Pushing for a larger lead, a Harp and Sturgis single gave the Seminoles three more runs. Harp stood on third when a throwing error after a walk to Ruggiero made it 11-1. Ash got a fly out to end the inning, but not before the ‘Noles had an 8 run inning.
4th Inning
Back out for her fourth inning of work, Francik had runners on second and third after a single, hit by pitch and ground out. A single up the middle from the Eagles gave FGCU a run, and an RBI ground out made it 11-3. Before the conclusion of the inning, Makenna Reid took over for Francik, getting the final out.
Angelee Bueno singled off of Ash in the bottom of the inning, and back to back sacrifice hits got her home, getting a run back for the ‘Noles.
5th Inning
Reid came back out in the 5th, looking to hold on to the 12-3 score for her team. The senior left handed pitcher used her defense to get all three outs, and a run rule win.

1st Inning
It was a pitching duel between Ashtyn Danley and FGCU’s Grace Taylor. While Danley gave up a lead off walk, Taylor did not allow a single baserunner to reach in her first outing.
2nd Inning
Going pitch for pitch, Danley and Taylor continued to battle each other. Danley had a pair of baserunners, and her defense got the double play to get out of the jam. However, Taylor continued to keep the ‘Noles off bases.
5th Inning
After entering in the 4th inning, Bella Dimitrijevic returned in the 5th inning. A single up the middle and bloop single with one out had runners in scoring position for FGCU. Facing her 5th batter of the inning, Dimitrijevic gave up a 3 run homerun. The long ball not only broke the scoreless tie, but gave the Eagles a lead.
Taylor’s gem of a game soon came to an end, as Hinde walked in the bottom of the inning. Still searching for a hit, Harp followed the walk with an RBI double.
Cracking into the lead, Sturgis reached on a fielder’s choice, and Harp was safe at home after a run down and review of the play.
FSU tied the game on a double from Ruggiero, sending Sturgis home for the 3-3 equalizer.
6th Inning
Beachum had a one out hit by pitch against Taylor. She was replaced after a fielder’s choice got her out at second, and had Danley safe at first. With one runner on, Hinde went deep for her second homerun of the year. The 2 run homerun put FSU in the lead for the first time this game.
7th Inning
Dimitrijevic had a one out single to her line in the final inning, but back to back fielder’s choice outs kept FGCU from getting any runs. FSU came from behind to beat the Eagles 5-3.
