Colwill suffered an ACL injury before the start of the season, and Chelsea opted not to sign another centre back last summer.
The England international played a key role last season, especially towards the end of the campaign, and at the Club World Cup.
Matt Law on whether Levi Colwill will play again this season
Chelsea initially struggled defensively in the absence of Colwill, but appear to have slightly more stability now with the partnership of Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana.
However, the Blues have only registered three clean sheets in Liam Rosenior’s 11 games in charge, which is certainly something which needs to improve.

It’s been reported Colwill is progressing well with his recovery, and there have been suggestions he could play again this season, although Law was quick to play those down.
“There’s word he [Colwill] will play again this season,” he told The London Is Blue Podcast.
“I’d be surprised. Many times when you saw players return for training [post-ACL] in pictures, they were a long way off.
“It makes no sense to start putting any pressure on Colwill.”
Rosenior has confirmed Colwill is back running on the grass, but one thing is certain Chelsea won’t rush him back.
Chelsea looking for new centre back
The 22-year-old will be back next season, but Chelsea are still said to be looking to bring in another centre back in the summer.
