The Denver Broncos defense was one of the best units in the 2025 season, and they are looking forward to yet another year of being a brute force, imposing their will on opposing offenses.
During the 2025 season, one former Bronco revealed that he reached out to Denver executives about the possibility of a reunion, and it would surely be a welcome one for fans.
Pass rusher Von Miller has expressed a fervent desire to return to the team that drafted him second overall in the 2011 NFL draft, but a reunion hasn't happened yet.
During a guest appearance on Denver cornerback Pat Surtain's Closed on Sundays podcast, fellow pass rusher Nik Bonitto expressed an excited feeling about the possibility of having Miller back in the Mile High City.
"He was always a guy I watched and kinda wanted to model my game after," Bonitto said. "I'd love to have him come back and retire a Bronco; just play with him, to learn from him. He's one of the greatest of all-time, so any way that he can help me out... that'll be probably a great thing for me."
Bonitto is a longtime admirer of Miller, who won Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos in 2015.
While it would be great to bring Miller back to Denver, having Miller, who would be in his age-37 season in 2026, may be a bit difficult to have a 'legacy' player on the 53-man roster, taking a spot of a younger player who plays on special teams.
Miller is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March. The Broncos can begin negotiating with pending free agents from other clubs on March 9.
