Shiffrin Wins Second Olympic Slalom Gold, 12 Years After First

Mikaela Shiffrin won the women's slalom at the 2026 Winter Olympics, earning her second gold and becoming the first U.S. skier to win three Olympic gold medals.

Shiffrin finished the two‑run event in 1:39.10, beating Swiss world champion Camille Rast by 1.50 seconds – the largest winning margin in Olympic alpine skiing since 1998.

Anna Swenn Larsson of Sweden took bronze, while fourth‑placed Wendy Holdener trailed by at least two seconds. Shiffrin’s victory ends an eight‑year Olympic hoodoo for the U.S.
