Powell Suspended 3 Games for Fight Incident

Providence forward Duncan Powell has been suspended for three games for his role in sparking a brawl during Saturday's game against St. John's.

The Big East Conference announced the suspension after Powell committed a flagrant-2 technical foul by grabbing Bryce Hopkins's head during a layup attempt. The incident resulted in six players being ejected and a 19-minute delay before St. John's won 79-69.

Powell will miss Providence's upcoming games against DePaul, Xavier, and Creighton. He is expected to return for the Friars' Senior Day matchup against Marquette on March 4. Providence's athletic department fully supports the suspension decision.
