Mike Evans Could Join Washington Commanders in 2026-27

Mike Evans, the Texas A&M legend and 11-year Bucs wide receiver, is tipped to join the Washington Commanders for the 2026-27 season, according to Sports Illustrated.

Sports Illustrated’s Conor Orr forecasts that the former 7th‑overall pick will leave Tampa Bay and become an elite addition to the Commanders’ offense. The move would be Evans’ first campaign outside the Bucs, after 13 seasons and a 1,000‑yard streak that ended with injuries this year.

Washington, building around rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, sees Evans as a quarterback‑friendly target that could help lift the team toward its first Super Bowl since 1992. Other clubs, including the Bills, have shown interest, but Orr notes Washington’s cap space and roster fit make it the most attractive destination.
