Daboll Drawn to Titans for Ward

New Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll selected the Titans' OC position partly because of his interest in developing quarterback Cam Ward.

Despite Ward's challenging rookie season where he ranked outside the top 30 in several statistical categories, Daboll sees potential in the young quarterback. 'He's a young, athletic quarterback who has accuracy,' Daboll stated. 'He can make plays on the move. He can do a great job if the play doesn't look great and then all of the sudden it looks great because of his ability. He's smart.'

Daboll expressed comfort with Ward's unconventional mechanics and has studied his tape dating back to college. Having previously developed Josh Allen from a raw prospect into an MVP with the Bills, Daboll is optimistic about working with Ward. 'April can't come soon enough,' he said, eager to begin installing the offensive system with the rehabbing quarterback.
