Cora: Red Sox 'Race Starts Now'

Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora delivered a strong motivational message to his team during Spring Training, comparing the baseball season to a marathon.

Addressing his players, Cora emphasized that the team needs to finish the race, saying, "We haven't finished the race in a while as an organization … We have to finish the race, but it starts now." The Red Sox, who haven't won a World Series since 2018, have an unbalanced roster with strengths in the starting rotation and outfield, but weaknesses in the infield and bullpen, particularly with left-handed relievers.

Despite an offseason that didn't meet expectations, the Red Sox made an unexpected postseason appearance last year and have a strong young core that Cora believes can lead them to success. The manager is focused on putting together the best 26-man roster possible as he aims to build a championship foundation during Spring Training.
