Buehler Signs with Padres After Dodgers

Former Dodgers World Series winner Walker Buehler has signed a minor league deal with the San Diego Padres, ending a journey that included stops with Boston and Philadelphia after leaving Los Angeles.

Buehler, who pitched for the Dodgers from 2017-2024, turned down a $20 million offer from Los Angeles after the 2024 season. He struggled with Boston (5.45 ERA) before being released and finishing with Philadelphia, where he had a 0.66 ERA in three appearances.

The Padres, facing pitching losses this offseason, see Buehler as potential rotation depth. He has a career 3.27 ERA and could compete for a spot in 2026 after recovering from Tommy John surgery that sidelined him in 2023.
