Nairobi wins 2029 World Athletics Championships

London's hopes of hosting the 2029 World Athletics Championships ended in disappointment as the event was awarded to Nairobi. This marks a historic moment for the Kenyan capital, which will become the first African city to stage the global championships.

World Athletics president Seb Coe also announced that Munich will host the 2031 event, describing the German city as having 'all the ingredients to be a spectacular world championships.' The British bid team was reportedly 'gutted' by the double disappointment. umafrika.club
