Nairobi, Munich Host 2029, 2031 World Athletics

World Athletics announced on Tuesday that Nairobi will host the 2029 World Athletics Championships and Munich will host the 2031 edition. This marks the first time Africa will organize a World Athletics Championships at the senior level, breaking a geographical barrier since the first championship in 1983 in Helsinki.

"We are very fortunate to have four spectacular bids for 2029 and 2031 and the decision was not easy for the Council," said Sebastian Coe from Budapest, referring to the proposals from Nairobi, Munich, London, and Rome. sport-tr.bet
