There's also a power adapter, which costs 29 USD/49 CAD/39 EUR/29 GBP/49 AUD. There's not one included in the box, though any USB Type-C charger of 45 W should cut it if you want to save the cash.

How to sign up for a Steam Frame at launch

If you don't mind the price, signups for a Steam Frame reservation can be made anytime between now and September 17 at 10 am Pacific Time on the product page.

Valve will be doing a one-time randomisation to determine who has a unit reserved for them and who is stuck on the waitlist. This takes place on September 17. From this, Valve will determine who has a unit reserved in their name and who is stuck on the waitlist.

Here's Valve on how the reservation system works:

  • Folks can sign up for the model they’d like to purchase between September 14 and September 17 at 10 am Pacific Time
  • When signups close, we’ll do a one-time randomization to determine reservation and waitlist order
  • Based on the results of that randomization, customers receive an email later on the 17 indicating they are on the reservation list or waitlist
  • Anyone coming to the product page after September 17 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time will be able to join the waitlist and will be added to the back
  • We expect to send the first batch of purchase emails out on September 18, and will continue sending those out as units become available to ship
  • For those on the waitlist, it means their place in line is beyond the number of Steam Frames currently available for reservation, and we will notify folks if and when they are moved into the reservation queue.

It's a similar system to the one Valve used for the launch of the Steam Machine, which so far seems to be working as intended. Orders for the Linux box were said to be going out daily back in July, with Valve believing then that it will be done with the reservation queue for the Steam Machine by the end of the year. In some regions, it had already begun offering units to those on the waitlist.

"We found the reservation system to be helpful in limiting resellers and improving the purchase experience," says Valve.

The Steam Frame is a different beast altogether, with a varied range of components and heaps of LPDDR5X memory chips, which could make life more difficult for Valve, but it seems the reservation system is at least working as intended. The main thing to note is that, by signing up ahead of September 17, you secure the best chance at a Steam Frame anytime soon.

Lies of P sequel might be Wonders of O, according to new Neowiz trademark that matches the Wizard of Oz story teased by the first game

Lies of P 2? Maybe not, as it seems developer Neowiz has a different title in mind for the inevitable Soulslike sequel. The company has recently filed a trademark for Wonders of O, which sure sounds like the Wizard of Oz-themed follow-up teased in the original game.

The Wonders of O trademark appeared on the European Union Intellectual Property Office website with a filing date of September 10, as highlighted on ResetEra. The trademark covers video game and computer software of various types, including potential for both physical and downloadable games, exactly like the 2022 trademark for Lies of P.

A sequel to Lies of P was already confirmed way back in 2023, just months after the original game's launch. Devs at Nough Studio, the Neowiz subsidiary responsible for Lies of P, recently noted how they're feeling "pressure" to make the sequel even better, but we haven't gotten any concrete details on what the sequel will actually look like.

No details, that is, aside from the narrative teasers present in Lies of P. The original game ends with an MCU-style post-credits stinger where we hear about a character named Dorothy, and we see a brief scene of a girl in ruby red slippers humming and clicking her heels together. Just as the first game turned the story of Pinocchio into a dark Soulslike, it feels almost certain that the sequel will do the same for the Wizard of Oz.

The name "Wonders of O" certainly sounds like what you'd call an Oz-themed follow-up to Lies of P, too. It's also just as potent a source of goofy innuendo, so take that for what it's worth.

Lies of P is one of the very best Soulslike games out there.

Steam Frame review: Another best-in-class VR headset by Valve, though virtual realities clash with economic ones It’s a strange time to be selling a new VR headset, and maybe an even stranger time to be buying one. The supply of original virtual reality games has slowed to a dribble, and just as with Valve’s last hardware launch, the Steam Frame arrives covered in bumps and scrapes
