Guinean media reported on February 24 that Paulo Duarte may be leaving his position as head coach of Sili Nacional. Angola is looking to seize this opportunity immediately.
According to information from Guinéenews, Paulo Duarte has not been paid his salary for nearly six months. This difficult financial situation could push the Franco-Portuguese coach to resign before the end of his contract (June 2027).
Angola wants to capitalize on the current situation. The Palancas Negras national team has been without a coach since Patrice Beaumelle departed in mid-February.
It is reported that the Angolan Football Federation has offered him a monthly salary of €50,000. Angolan officials are betting on Duarte's experience and his knowledge of African football. The 56-year-old coach has previously managed the national teams of Burkina Faso, Togo, and Gabon.
