Auburn baseball infielder Ethin Bingaman was named SEC Freshman of the Week by the league office after a 3-0 weekend for the Tigers.
Bingaman led the Tigers in batting average and on-base percentage at .625 and .700, respectively, during their trip to Arlington. He hit two home runs in their last matchup against Louisville, which combined to travel 800 feet.
For Auburn, Bingaman is now the fifth SEC Freshman of the Week in the last couple of seasons. That places the Tigers with the second most in the conference in those two seasons.
Auburn baseball is off to a great start with its 3-0 weekend and 6-1 overall record. The Tigers take to the diamond again on Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT, facing West Georgia to start a nine-game homestand. The week continues this weekend against a quality Nebraska team that received votes in this week's USA TODAY Coaches Poll.
