Tottenham and Brighton interested in signing out-of-favour Real Madrid prodigy – report

Real Madrid could face an important decision this summer regarding one of their most exciting young talents.

According to a fresh report from Fichajes, Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion are both showing serious interest in Franco Mastantuono.

The Argentine winger, still only 18, is regarded as one of the brightest prospects at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, his development has been slowed by limited opportunities under Alvaro Arbeloa.

So far this season, Mastantuono has accumulated less than 400 minutes across competitions.

Arriving from River Plate as a highly rated teenager, Mastantuono was always seen as a long-term investment.

He remains under contract until 2031, which places Real Madrid in a strong negotiating position.

Yet reports suggest that Florentino Perez could consider offers close to €50 million, especially if the player feels his pathway to regular football is blocked.

It is said that Tottenham are leading the race at this stage. They are keen to refresh their attacking options and view Mastantuono as a dynamic right winger who could adapt well to the pace and intensity of English football.

Their financial strength and clear need for wide reinforcements may give them an edge.

Brighton, meanwhile, continue their established model of identifying and developing elite young talent before their market value explodes.

The Seagulls’ technical team see Mastantuono as a project with enormous upside. They believe their system could help develop his technical qualities.

From Real Madrid’s perspective, this is not a simple decision, as selling for €50 million would represent strong business for a player who has not yet become a regular starter.

On the other hand, letting go of a talent of this profile always carries risk.

Ultimately, the choice may rest with Mastantuono himself. He must decide whether to remain patient in Madrid and fight for a breakthrough or move to the Premier League, where he could immediately play a leading role.
