Canada wins bronze in Olympic women’s short-track relay

Courtney Sarault is four-for-four.

The Canadian short-track speedskating star helped her team win a bronze medal on Wednesday in the 3,000-metre women’s relay at the Winter Olympics.

Sarault, from Moncton, N.B., now has four medals in as many events — two silver and two bronze — the most by a Canadian short-tracker at a single Games.

Danae Blais, Florence Brunelle and Kim Boutin joined Sarault in the relay.

It is the sixth career Olympic medal for Boutin, tying her as Canada’s most decorated Winter Olympian with fellow short-tracker Charles Hamelin and long-track speed skater Cindy Klassen.

    Medal table

Canada now has 13 medals overall at Milano Cortina 2026.

South Korea won gold in the relay, Italy took silver and the Netherlands finished last in the four-team final.

The Canadians avoided going down after a collision with the Netherlands midway through the race.

A slight slip by Blais later in the race basically dropped Canada out of gold-medal contention.
