13-year NFL veteran has decided to hang up the cleats

An NFL veteran has decided to retire after 13 years and five different teams.

NFL Network's insider Ian Rapoport has reported that wide receiver Robert Woods has decided to call it an NFL career. Woods decided to retire after signing a one-day contract with the Los Angeles Rams.

Woods was drafted out of USC by the Buffalo Bills and spent four seasons with the team before signing with the Rams. In 2018, the Rams would make the run to the Super Bowl, and Woods was the team's top receiver that season. During Super Bowl 56, Woods was also on the Rams' roster, but was not active for the Super Bowl due to a torn ACL.

Woods has stepped away from the game, finishing his NFL career with 683 catches for 8,233 yards and 38 touchdowns.

"Every time I stepped onto the field, I was determined to leave a piece of myself in every snap." Woods would say in his post announcing his retirement.
