Deontay Wilder sat down for a lengthy interview with Brian Custer and discussed his impending return to boxing along with his continued claims that Tyson Fury cheated in his past matchups against him. Wilder would ramble on about a whole lot of things over the hour long interview, and let his momentum crescendo when asked about his plans for 2026 and whether he’d be interested in fighting Anthony Joshua.
“I’ve always been down,” Wilder said of fighting Joshua. “That ain’t even no question to ask me. Like I said before, as long as I’m still in the business and he’s still in the business, why not? I got PTSD of past situations but I done saw somebody for that. But this is a different time, you know. I’m just looking forward to what boxing is about to become, where it’s about to go, because I’m back in this thing and it ain’t no party without me.
“You got one of ‘em [Tyson Fury], he a crackhead, he definitely sniff coke and stuff like that, talking about he going to pray for me. You need to pray for yourself. You a coke sniffer. You the one using Christianity as a weapon…I know he serve a different God. That’s why I know he don’t serve one like ours…They rob and steal. Come on, you cheat. I lift you up and fed your family…You going to cheat the man that really lift you up?! You think that’s of Christ?
“That ain’t of Christ, and anybody that agree with him during that time, may you burn in hell with him. I want you to have a beach seat in front. I want one the ones that got that plastic on it so when it get hot you’ll melt and sink through, and when the iron hit you, you can’t get up like a toilet bowl is sucking you through, and you just sit there and burn — burn, burn, burn, because of your hatred and your dislike for me, allow you to pay attention to the real devil, the manipulation…But, anyway…”
Wilder would then get steered back to the question about Joshua, to which he reaffirmed his in finally making that fight happen, reasoning that once he makes his way back to world champion status that all the top fighters will want to face him.
