As we head into Gameweeks 27 to 32, looking at team fixtures can help you make smart FPL decisions.
Some teams have easier matches where their players can score points consistently, while others face tough games that make it harder to get returns.
In this article, we highlight five teams to focus on and five teams to avoid to help with your transfers, captain choices, and chip plans.
Five teams to target ahead of the upcoming fixtures
Manchester City
Manchester City have a good run of games from GW27 to GW30. They play Newcastle(H), Leeds (A), and West Ham (A).
With West Ham struggling this season, City’s attackers and defenders are strong picks. They then host Nottingham Forest in GW31 and travel to face Chelsea in GW32.
Liverpool
Liverpool has an easier set of fixtures from GW27 to GW32. They play NottinghamForest away, West Ham(H),Wolves (A), Brighton (A), and finish with Fulham (H).
While they might not win every game, their players can still score points from goals, assists, and clean sheets. Liverpool does not have a blank game in GW31, so their players are reliable for consistent points.
Aston Villa
Aston Villa have a manageable run-in this period. They start at home against Leeds, travel to Wolves, host Chelsea in GW29, and then face Manchester United(A) in GW30.
They also play West Ham (H) before finishing with Nottingham Forest (A). Their key players have many chances to score points in attack and midfield.
Bournemouth
Looking ahead, Bournemouth have a good run from GW28 to GW31. They play West Ham, Sunderland, and Brentford at home, then travel to face Burnley.
They will also host Manchester United before finishing with a tough away game with Arsenal.
Manchester United
The red devil starts with games against Everton (A) and Crystal Palace (H), then travels to Newcastle and Aston Villa.
They will also face Bournemouth (A) before finishing with Leeds (H) in GW32, making United players a good pick to make an impact before the harder matches come.
Five teams to avoid ahead of the upcoming fixtures
Newcastle
Newcastle, who currently sit in 10th position in the table, show that while they are mid-table, they still struggle against the league’s top sides.
They face a tough run from GW27 to GW32, playing Man City, Everton, Manchester United, Chelsea, Sunderland, and Crystal Palace.
With several games against the league’s strongest teams, both their defenders and attackers are likely to struggle for points.
West Ham
West Ham face a challenging stretch of games from GW28 to GW32, playing Bournemouth, Liverpool, Fulham, and a strong Manchester City, and Aston Villa side, and a fellow league bottler, Wolves.
While the matches against Bournemouth and Wolves could offer some attacking returns, their games versus Liverpool, Man City, and Aston Villa will be very tough.
Defenders are likely to concede, making West Ham players risky picks during this period.
Wolves
Wolves have struggled in the league since the beginning of the season and will continue by facing a tricky run from GW27 to GW32.
They play Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Brentford, and West Ham, with a blank in GW31.
With several challenging fixtures against strong teams like Liverpool and Aston Villa, it’s a period to be cautious with their players.
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace also face a tricky run from GW27 to GW32, playing Wolves, Manchester United, Tottenham, Leeds, then a blank in GW31, and finishing with Newcastle. With several difficult matches against top and mid-table sides, this is a challenging period for their team.
Leeds United
Leeds have a challenging period ahead, starting with Aston Villa away and Man City at home. They get a slightly easier game against Sunderland in GW29, but then face Palace(A) and Man United (A).
Recently, they drew 2‑2 against Chelsea, showing they can fight back even in tough games. Even with that result, with the fixtures ahead, it is not idle for FPL managers to invest in the players.
