Trading star defensive end Maxx Crosby has been one of the biggest storylines surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason, and don’t expect that to change anytime soon. As a result, CBS Sports’ Tyler Sullivan put together five potential trade packages for Crosby, naming the Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers as potential trade partners for the Raiders. The most intriguing trade package of the bunch is from New England.
Raiders get: 2026 first-round pick (No. 31 overall), 2026 second-round pick (No. 63 overall), DT Christian Barmore
Patriots get: EDGE Maxx Crosby
This is something of a Parsons-lite trade for New England to land Crosby. The Patriots don’t ship out multiple first-round picks like Dallas did, but they do send two high-caliber selections along with a starter, with defensive tackle Christian Barmore serving as this deal’s Kenny Clark comp.
New England is fresh off a Super Bowl appearance in Year 1 of the Mike Vrabel era, but there’s still work to be done on the roster. While needed improvements along the offensive line and skill positions were clear in the loss to Seattle, the club could also stand to add an impact pass rusher.
The Patriots caught lightning in a bottle with K’Lavon Chaisson this season, but he’s set to cash in when he hits free agency. Crosby is the type of talent who could elevate this front to another level ahead of what projects to be a far more difficult 2026 regular season.
This would not only give the Raiders two more top 100 picks this year—giving them five in total, plus pick 102— to help with the organization’s rebuild, but it would also fill a need at defensive tackle with a 26-year-old who turns 27 in July and is under contract through 2028. Barmore wouldn’t help the run defense much, but he’d boost Las Vegas’ interior pass-rush, ranking tied for ninth among defensive tackles with 50 pressures during the 2025 regular season, per Pro Football Focus.

- Klint Kubiak hires offensive and defensive coordinators: Speaking of the defensive line, Rob Leonard received a promotion and Andrew Janocko will follow Kubiak from Seattle.
- Focus on the 12: “Kubiak is one of the game’s 12-personnel truthers as his Seahawks offense featured the one running back, two tight ends groupings at the 11th-highest rate in the NFL,” S&BP’s Ray Aspuria wrote. “The usage helped power Seattle’s offense that ranked third in points scored and 10th in yards gained this past season.”
- Coby Bryant predicted to sign with Raiders: “Like any Super Bowl team, the Seahawks will be hard-pressed to keep all of their young talents coming off rookie contracts,” Fox Sports’ Greg Auman wrote. “It might be a choice between Bryant at $12-14 million a year over their young corners.”
- Rasul Douglas predicted to sign with Raiders: “Long story short, Douglas is a proven, capable veteran cornerback who has started 93 NFL games,” Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport wrote. “He was a major stabilizing force for the Dolphins secondary in 2025, and it’s not like that was the first time he has helped solidify an NFL secondary.”
