College basketball: Ridgewater smokes past Fergus Falls

Feb. 15—FERGUS FALLS — DeAndrew Holloway had a big game for the Ridgewater College men's basketball team Saturday.

The Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg graduate scored 30 points in Ridgewater's 105-65 victory over Minnesota State-Fergus Falls.

Holloway, a 6-foot-7 sophomore, also had nine rebounds and two blocked shots. Tyrese Mayo, a sophomore guard from Winter Haven, Florida, added 20 points and three steals. Brenton McKinney had 15 points, eight rebounds and three steals and Steven Nzimi added 10 points for the Warriors.

McKinney is a 6-2 freshman from Winter Haven, Fla. Nzimi is a 6-4 sophomore from Brooklyn Center.

Carter Clark had 12 points to lead the Spartans.

Ridgewater plays Riverland Community College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Willmar. The Warriors then close the regular season at 3 p.m. Saturday at Minnesota West Community & Technical College in Worthington.

Ridgewater is 7-3 in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference South Division and 18-5 overall. Fergus Falls is 2-8 in the MCAC and 12-14 overall.
